Process map maker

A process map shows the work in order and who touches it. FlowSimp is a free process map maker: start from an approval flow or a swimlane, rename the steps, and export PNG or SVG. No account is required.

Build a process map in four moves

    1. Open the expense approval map or the swimlane template.
    2. Double-click a shape and replace the label with your step.
    3. Use the Connect tool, or the dots on a selected shape, to attach arrows. Arrows stay attached when you drag a shape.
    4. Export PNG or SVG, or copy a share link for someone who only needs to view it.

What to put on the map

Write the trigger, each handoff, and the decision that sends work backward. Keep labels short enough to read at a glance. If you already have the steps as notes, paste them into the text-to-flowchart tool and then drag the generated boxes into lanes. A symbol-by-symbol reference lives in the flowchart symbols guide.

Process flow diagram versus process map

The process flow diagram page is the shape-first tool. Use this page when the question is “who does the work, and in what order?” Both open the same editor.
